Regrouping

I went through 2 consecutive nights of miserable luck in finding comfortable hotel accomodations. The first night found me paying too much for closed in discomfort. The second night found me pulling into an Ohio State Park, ready to sleep on my cot without a blanket or pillow, much less wake up luxuries, like coffee and breakfast. I think angels guided me to that spot. For sure, the mother and son in the neigboring campsite were human angels who welcomed me to their campfire. None of us could get our hearts into packing yesterday morning. It was a splendid night of companionship and shared comfort.

My irritation at driving past all these wonderful camping spots is still rising. Our park system is my greatest personal pride in being a U.S. citizen. I have yet to see its equal in my intercontinental wandering. My anti-clutter obsession has prevented me from buying new camping equipment. Buying things I already own is a first class ticket to clutter madness. Still. . . I am more than a thousand miles and uncounted campsites from any of that equipment.

I landed in Charleston, West Virginia last night and contracted this room for two nights. Got shopping on my mind.

We see what grows. . .
