Reflection on It
Three weeks have passed since my stroke and I have successfully gotten through the "No, it didn't happen to me, did it?" and the "No way I could have a stroke...I am so healthy" phase of denial. I am now in the "Someone help me make sense of this and how do I know it won't happen again" and the "quit looking for signs that I am having another one" phases. This has been a roller coaster ride for sure. Some people I can't wait to tell (friends and family) and others I would die if they knew (clients) I now realize that this will be a part of my medical history now forever and I probably shouldn't have any more egg yolks ever!!! HaHa You have to laugh about it. Otherwise, you would cry about it and I think laughing is better for you.
I have a "stroke joke" - yea, I am sagging...but its my boobs but the stroke did not cause that!!
I am trying not to overreact to it by changing my diet and exercise routine...too late. Already doing that. I started walking every night and am drinking lots more water and trying to get more sleep. Also, limiting Facebook and the computer in general and trying to distress as much as possible.
Anybody else having similar thoughts? Id love to share and to hear about your situation.
