Reflection
I forgot that I made an account on this site for the longest, and I happened to stumble upon it again. Funny how time changes people, but the core issues and personality traits resurface. I've since been diagnosed with bipolar I disorder, and when I read these old posts I really feel for the younger me. Of course there are also a lot things I read that cause me to cringe, but I figure I'm not the only one to be embarrassed by something I wrote when I was 16. Girl troubles aren't quite as bad haha. Just got out of a relationship, lotta mistakes made there. But in the end the pain just makes us stronger, forces us to grow. Currently I'm ok, a little depressed but nothing that can't be managed. I finally found the right combination of medications after about 4 years of trial and error, so I'm grateful for that. It's interesting to be on this site again after so many years (relatively speaking). I've decided that I want to become a psychiatrist; after a long battle with mental illness, I want to treat, counsel, and give hope to people who are still fighting and in pain. I'm glad to see the stigma and secrecy surrounding mental illness begin to gradually diminish, I hope it inspires more people to seek help. I'm also grateful to know that I have the support of my family, psychiatrist and psychologist, and online community; I am never alone. Excited to embark on a new journey
