Reflection
Hello Sisters of the Heart! It is a beautiful sunny Tuesday and instead of working, I am trying to distract myself from a student who is wanting to go home and is an argumentative mood.....So I'm letting her rest "a bit".......
It's been awhile since writing - sometimes I find myself in a coccoon, not really wanting to say much. I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut sometimes and other times, I can't seem to find words to say - "twisted sister" is what I see myself as, sometimes. LOL
The retreat was awesome - loved the speaker and I walked away with nuggets of wisdom. Seeing everyone that I have a virtual relationship with is always surreal to me - it is amazing how we connect through a common bond and experiencing a hug from moms who understand the craziness we feel sometimes. I had a couple of things happen during that week-end that sort of "rocked my emotions" and has caused me to look @ myself - now that's a scary thought BUT in saying that I do believe that we all have things we need to look at about ourselves and how we affect other people. With grace and forgiveness I have done this and am in a good place right now! I am not sure about attending another retreat, but fortunately I don't have to make a decision today.
Hunter is okay - he has an important court date 11/28 that will determine if he is going to be on probation for something that he did 1 year ago.....I ask that you all keep him in your prayers when he comes to mind. Thank you. He is continuing with his classes @ a Jr. College (not really his thing), but at least is not dropping out. He turns 18 December 2nd.....It's like 18 is the magic number - "ooh he is an adult" - makes me sick - emotionally he is not an adult but it is what it is....so someday our emotions catch up with our age, don't they? Okay, so maybe not.....lol I see him every week and cover him with prayer - he has my heart.
Halloween is tomorrow - we are all wearing sport jerseys......I'm wearing OU football jersey - I am a fan of Oklahoma University Football for years - yep, I'm an Oakie----maybe THAT explains ME!! hahahaha
Well, it's lunch time here and the kids are realizing they have another 3 hours - OH NO.......... always hold YOU ALL close to my heart.
Always will be Jennifer's mom.

From one "twisted sister" to another! lol! That's the beauty of FMO that we can BE however we are needing to BE and it's all okay. I understand discovering things about oneself when we are with others and it can feel like a mixed bag of every emotion, can't it? Often we just cannot know and that is why I have my tribe of "go to" friends who have NO problem expressing what they are picking up around me and calling me on it. It can be very painful at times, yet what I have discovered about myself is that which brings me the most pain is most likely that which needs my tender loving care and attention. We are all in these earth suits, Vicki, and learning about ourselves daily aren't we? Sometimes I just want a "recess" and a very long one at that, yet no luck on that one yet. :)
My thoughts and prayers are with Hunter and I will mark my calendar to remember the 28th. Please let us know as you are able.
Oh, the years of dressing up! I was everything from a bee to a pig and everything in-between. The school children were always SO excited to see what we were going to dress up as. Enjoy wearing that OU jersey!
In gratitude for your sharing my friend and savor the sunshine as we're soggy today.
Much love to Jennifer's mom from Douglas and me always,
XO Joanie
I loved finally meeting face to face. I must say, I hope you don’t love me any less, now! I will keep Hunter in my prayers and you as well. ❤️
Hope Ms. Fussy Pants had a good "rest", LOL! Lawd I don't think I could be around so many kiddos every day! Bless your heart!!! (((hugs)))
I too am one twisted sister, LOL!!! So you're in good company!!
The retreat, for me, was awesome...a LOT of work, but totally worth it! THANK YOU for all you did to help make it successful. Each year the retreat is different, and that's why, for me, I look forward to each of them....never knowing exactly what to expect, but always knowing there will be something special for me to take into my soul. I've only skipped one, thinking I wouldn't miss it, but boy did I!!!!! I truly hope you'll attend more retreats in the future as you add sweetness and love to the mix of crazy, LOL!!!
Hunter continues to be in my thoughts and prayers~
Big hugs and lots of love,
Teri
I'm okay with twisted, it was great meeting and hugging you. The retreats are always a mixed bag, take what you need and leave the rest, a famous saying from Teri and our FMO FOUNDER Barbara. Love you!
Hello Vicki, I will definitely keep Hunter in my prayers. When I worked in residential treatment and kids had "aged out" at 18 I used to feel so bad and worried about the kids that had no family. I'm so glad Hunter has you. All it takes for so many kids is that one person.
Lots of love to you and dearest Jennifer, Linda ♡
Here's another twisted sister! I am a bit late. I am glad you are in an okay place. Our lives really are roller coasters.
As for Hunter, I hope all goes well for him. He sounds like a kid who needs a break. I know one thing for sure, he is lucky to have you in his life.
Love and tight hugs, Marlene
