Referrals and appointments
I finally called my neurosurgeon last week in reference to my neurologist referral as I had heard nothing from insurance or them in over six weeks. It takes two to get approval. Now don't get me wrong, I dislike the test I'm having done immensely but should go as I need to find out about my nerve healing post fusion. It is now scheduled for the end of July; earliest I could get an appointment. Office had had staffing issues and my referral got lost.
On another topic, but related; I woke again this week with sharp pain in the side where my incisions are. It feels like a breaking or tearing pain and then warmth spreads throughout area. Not pleasant at all. Must be all the bungee jumping and heliskiing I'm doing. Dang, all I did both times was roll a little to shift position while sleeping. I'm not stupid. As this was now the second time it happened, the first a month ago, I called Kathleen my Better Way Back representative and Smith's patient advocate for advice. She recommended I make an appointment. I go Thursday. He had one cancellation prior to a three week trip away. I took it. They called today to confirm my need to go. They wanted to see if I could wait to return until I had had the conduction tests done. I reminded them of why I made the appointment in the first place. Sigh. I know they are busy but don't people talk to each other? It should have been in my chart or at least a sticky note tucked in as to why I made the appointment. I'd let it go but I think something is wrong with one of my bolts or I have adhesions at the very least.
Lately I've been feeling not so attractive. It's summer, a time for shorts and sundresses. I put some weight on with the steroids after back to back, literally, surgeries. Nothing fits right and I feel frumpy and old. I have so little in my wardrobe now that it's criminal. I have an upcoming wedding to attend and don't even want to go. My scars are now visible to all. The lumbar scars are hidden from view and no one but my family gets to see those. With the throat scar still red and ropy I am self-conscious. Silly of me, my long hair covers it a little but what with my weight and ill-fitting clothing it all makes me want to stay home in my jammies. I'm sure others may feel this way too. I need a little encouragement here folks.

Darlene you beautiful spirit go shop. Call Chicos at the mall on the strip or tell me to and I will. They might remember me from my last shop. They are awesome to put something together for you. Natural fabric with a nice long flowing fun scarf for that wedding. They would pull three or four looks for you. Give them you price range and your circumstances. Just what a girl needs when she is feeling frumpy.
Glad you made appointment. You at giving it your all with gluten free and meditation and aromatherapy.
