reduction!!!!

Finally......I get to reduce the prednisone!!!!!!  I am so happy There was no change to my pulmonary tests again so i argued that if 20mg of pred hasn't changed anything in 8 months then why can't we try 10mg....He said okay but I have to go back in a month for another PFT to make sure there is no change and I have to monitor my breathing very closely.....like I'm not aware of it every second of every day.
He was very upset that I had no change whatsoever since I have been on the full dose of cyclophosphimide for 3 months and there should have been some change, i am just happy that it is not getting worse. That was always my understanding that it would not get better because it is all scar tissue and that doesn't repair itself. So all things considered i am very happy.
This day has taken it's toll on me though, I forgot to take my meds before I left the house, and I couldn't figure out why I was so shaky.....it wasn't until I got home that i realized. It is a long day when I see the rhuemy and the pulm doc, they are both out of town and it is a 1 1/2 hr drive. I was hurting by the time I got home today....but it was my own fault for forgetting my meds. At least hubby had dinner ready when I got home....it was only burgers but it was wonderful anyway. So since I forgot to take the pred. this morning I started my reduction today...ha ha.
My doc made a comment about it being almost impossible to lose weight while on pred, but with this reduction I am going to go at it 1000%, just a little attitude there, but this weight is coming OFF!!!
So even though the doc was a little discouraged I'm not, I am very happy today even with all the pain I'm in now.....this too shall pass and tomorrow is another day.....WOO HOO!!!
