Recovering
Well I just had my LEEP procedure yesterday morning. I made sure to take 3 ibuprofen a half hour before. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be... I just hate waiting. I brought my iPod to listen to while waiting though with some My Thought Coach.com inspirational type meditations to listen to, which definitely helped. The most painful part was when she put the speculum in in the beginning, after that it was just uncomfortable, but I just made sure to keep an even breathing pace and to make sure I was still breathing. I have a tendency, especially at the dentist's office of not breathing. I could definitely feel the pressure when my dr. scraped the cells away, but it was more of just feeling the pressure than feeling the utensil against me. After I got out of the dr's office, I felt a little queasy, like I was going to throw up so I stayed in the bathroom for a minute or two, and then left. The cramping wasn't bad afterward like I thought it would be, nothing 2 ibuprofen every couple of hours couldn't handle. I actually felt pretty okay all of yesterday. Now when I woke up this morning, that was pain. Today, I feel like someone punched me in the stomach 10 times, and then I did 100 crunchers. I've just been taking it easy today. I'm so glad I ended up having today, tomorrow and Sunday off. I would hate to have gone to work today. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A RECOVER IN ONE DAY PROCEDURE FOLKS! You just have to take it easy and rest up. Get a heating pad! That definitely has been comforting. I should get my biopsy results back in about a week.
