Recovery
I feel I've reached a point where I am quite comfortable with my life. After losing my husband, my weight spireled out of control. I was sooooo depressed, my children worried about me constantly. I guess I am the type of person that gains when depressed. I was so down on myself, had very low self esteem and hated my life. Some people lose the weight, not me. I finally decided to have GBS. It has turned my life around. I have also been able to let my husband go. I will always love him and think of him every day. I have three children, married and on their own but I still owe it to them to keep myself healthy and as active as possible. Art and I used to go to MM during the week to ride the roller coasters. One of my goals and a tribute to him is to ride that roller coaster again, for both of us. I'm sure he will love it. I am 71 yrs young and still very active. Maybe I will chicken out at the last minute, who knows, but I don't think so. Or at least I hope not.He was always my rock. I believed him when he would say , "things will work out" I depended on him for so much, I was very young and vulnerable when I married him (15), he was 11 yrs my sr. We were married for 42 yrs, when he passed away it was so sudden and unexpected. My family was devastated. It has been 13 yrs now since his passing. We all still love and miss him terribly. I talk to him everyday and have no desire to date or remarry. My family is enough for me. We get together every week end. Have a BBQ or just update each other on everyday events. Maybe some day I will meet someone to spend time with, go to the movies or dinner. But till that day comes I will continue to thrive and strive to be a happy person, Art would not have it any other way. He loved us so very much. One of the things he would do is to pull out his wallet with pictures of the family and show them to anyone around him. It was kind of a joke about him. He was so proud of his family, everyone felt they knew us.
