Rebuilding The House

I wrote this illustration for someone and wanted to save it here:
"I am glad you are working hard on your rebuilding. It is a big job. My perspective on rebuilding is like a person standing in the wreckage of their home feeling dismayed (right after Dday). First the rubble has to be cleared away. That is the initial first few weeks of trying to figure out how to proceed and getting a counselor etc... then comes the work of actually rebuilding the house. Gathering the tools and supplies. (support groups, religious support, counselor, books to read, etc...) It takes a long time to rebuild this house. The house is not just your marriage, but your spouse and yourself as well. It gets easier and easier as the rebuilding progresses but if you don't work together the house may not be workable in the end. Once the house is done, you still have each other. maybe it is a better house than the one you had before but it is still a new house. the old one is gone. There will be things you miss about the old one and things you appreciate about the new one and there will be losses from the destruction that will always cause a little pain, but you can move on together in spite of those losses."
