Reality Check
When I decided that I wanted to restart my weight loss, I knew what my weight was and I knew it was bad, but today I decided to check my BMI. I went online and found out that I am 3 lbs into the OBESE category. WOW, what a reality check. I knew my weight had crept up there and I knew I was close, but seing that word was kind of scary. I have a family history of diabetes, I carry the APO E 4/4 gene (which greatly contributes to my problem), and I have a catastrophic history of heart disease (which is why I am vegan - except for fish). BOTH of my sisters have been obsese since childhood and I was always the "thin" one. NO MORE! This was quite a wake up call.
I also realized that my two favorite T-shirts are XL. Seriously? I have only worn larges the last few years and now I prefer the XL? I tried to tell myself that one of them was because it was the "girl" cut, but that is just no good. This has to stop before I am being scheduled for a triple bypass. I have to deal with my emotions and stress another way. I want to do this. I want to manage my food and emotional stress and feel better about the way I look. I want to go to the doctor and not dread the scales. I want to be proud of my ability to meet this goal. I can do this. I want to lose weight. I want to do what it takes to manage my emotions and lose weight. I want to look up my BMI in a year and see the word "Normal".
