Ready, set... GO! No, wait... STOP! Ok, GO!

Ah, the rollercoaster of IF treatments!

After having my greatly anticipated 1st IVF cycle postponed due to a large (4cm x 6cm) ovarian cyst on the right side, we are now back ON! I went back to the RE today for yet another ultrasound, 15 days after initial discovery of the cyst. I was experiencing pain 2 weeks ago, so I shouldn't have been surprised it was there, but I hadn't prepared for the disappointment I'd feel after this discovery.

But today... GREAT NEWS! After some good old-fashioned ovarian suppression with OCPs, the cyst is totally gone! No trace of it! I was floored, and even the doctor seemed surprised. I had fully prepped myself for the news that it was improved, but that I'd be remaining on the pill for another few weeks or months, and we'd revisit the IVF thing at a later date. Why do I keep guessing wrong when I try to psychologically prepare myself for the most recent news on the IF front?!! I guess I'd better stop doing that; huh? ;)

Anyhow, I stop the OCPs today and start stimming on Saturday!!!!! The only thing between me and a lotta needles and hormones is one blood test on Saturday morning. Please, oh please, let that be normal! I'm so ready to get this show on the road.

Fingers crossed...

Thanks, ladies! Your words of encouragement mean a TON! Really and truly! I wish I could jettison myself to all of your houses and give you a hug. :) It\'s crazy how this experience can isolate you, but also put you in touch with some wonderful, strong women around the globe. Thanks for being such a lovely source of support... all of you! :)
