REACHING THE "TOP OF MY MOUNTAIN"!
WHOO HOO!!! EMPOWERMENT!!!
So the past 2 weeks, I've been dwelling - what to do about my neighbor. After the dog barking/neighbor swearing incident that really got out of control, I bought bark collars which worked all of 2 days before the dog figured out he can bark over them. So I drove to Rapid (a 45 minute drive one way) and bought a static bark collar for $200 - it gives a little shock. I don't like it, but had to do SOMETHING since the neighbor refused to fix the problem HE created. My dog still barks, but I can see that it's working - he only barks at another neighbor's dog, strangers and deer - but is leaving the problem neighbor ALONE.... and the barks are getting less and less and the neighbor stopped swearing (though to be honest, the bark lessened as soon as the neighbor stopped swearing the day I confronted him). And then came that dwelling... My neighbor had the BALLS to THREATEN ME and then left all HIS crap in MY yard! And now I've spent $200 on bark collars with another $200 planned for a fence - I need this money for ME! GRRRRROWL!
But I didn't react immediately - immediately gets me in big trouble, lol. So I took this past week to evaluate my options. I could just leave the crap there and let him bully me which just gets worse in the future... I could send him legal notice to clean it up and then sit and wait and stew and then fight over it in the future while his crap just sits there... or I could just show him I'm pissed and move it myself and DARE him to say anything about it...
So early yesterday, I was on Facebook with friends while I drank my coffee and got into a MAJOR discussion about this ridiculous new law in Arizona's legislature about abortion. Apparently now, they're trying to make it a law that pregnancy begins 2 weeks before having sex! SERIOUSLY! I'm sick and tired of all these attacks on women - when the heck are they going start focusing on the cause instead of the result! MEN! Men who cheat, Men who take NO RESPONSIBILITY! Isn't it about time that MEN get focused on more and the laws look toward PREVENTING unwanted pregnancy BEFORE it happens? BUT NO.... it's WOMEN'S FAULT! And during the discussion, this IDIOTIC man came on and was actually telling us that our bodies are not ours... like we're some kind of baby vessel and that when we reach birthing age, we're lose our value... that we're EVEN EXPENDABLE! Yeah, I'm sure you can tell the reaction he got! By the time I signed off, I was SO PISSED OFF at IDIOTIC MEN that I decided to DO SOMETHING. So I ran upstairs, threw on my sweats and gardening gloves and went outside and MOVED THAT CRAP.
I took photos first of all the junk, the poison ivy he brought in, and how it was in my yard - just in case he made up something, like having broken something. There was a flat bed trailer in the middle that was too heavy because of logs and rocks and pavers he had on it - I felt my back hurt as soon as I tried to lift it to move it - darn it, again? But I was still SO ANGRY that I unloaded the whole damn thing, moved it into the middle of his driveway, reloaded it, and then cleaned up all the crap that was around it, and cleaned up the poison ivy the logs had brought in and took more photos. His kids were home while I was doing this and must have called him - he came rushing home 10 minutes after I finished, went in his house, and nothing happened....
I was starting to calm down finally, looked at my clock and it was 8am. And I realized that I could have another potential problem... what if he started putting the crap back? So I called the non-emergency line for the police department, asked them to do a drive through today, just to make sure that my property stayed clean and safe. Just before I left for work, an officer came and he started taking photos of my property. So I went out, explained the dog problem, told him what I did, why I did it, and how I was in the process of getting the area marked for digging to put in the new fence. Nice guy - he started asking about what was working as he also has a dog problem of his own, lol. So when we finished talking, he said he was going to make an incident report just in case I had any other problems, and I left for work....
I got home at lunch to let the dogs out.... WOW! The neighbor got my "message" loud and clear! He got rid of all the logs! Cleaned up the trailer! Organized his gardening stuff neatly on HIS side of the fence! YES! I no longer have anything to worry about (well, for now anyways)!
Darn, I should have done this the first day he started swearing, lol. Hmmm.... maybe I should run for Congress, lol.
