Re: The SEI Plan...PART 2

This is a follow up on my journal entry yesterday afternoon, when I wrote on the Self-Environment Inventory, or SEI, Plan. First and foremost, a very important disclaimer:  I am NOT a Psychiatrist or Psychologist.  I am a patient in the Mental Health System since 1984 or 1985 until the present day and for life, probably. I do NOT have any type of medical degree or Psychology Degree.  What I do have is experience with mental illness, and new Peer Support Ideas (PSI) such as the SEI. The SEI is designed to help us become 'better' (we are NOT 'bad' people!) people who are trying to control our emotions, thus resolving any and all types of conflict(s) and or problems without resorting to or being prone to using any type of violence.  As we all know, violence never solves anything!  Yes, we are going to lose our cool every once in a while.  Yes we are human and going to make mistakes. Yes, we are not perfect.  But what we do--and HOW we do it--as an individual or group, can and will make the world a better place.  We have to have HOPE in these dismal and dark times. There are a lot of Americans hurting financially due to the economy.  People are losing their retirement savings, their 401(k), and most importantly their jobs and their homes as a result.  They are fighting mad, most likely, but how are they handling it?  They are speaking their minds and thoughts are coming out.  This is a good example here, because I really don't know (but I do hope that there are none)if there is anyone in this position that are members of DS.  If there are, how are YOU handling the situation?  The first step is to Identify the Present Situation.  In this case, the PS is the Economy and its effects on you and your family.  The 2nd step is the Handling Process of the PS.  This is simply HOW and WHAT are you doing to handle this situation in a positive, constructive manner?  The 3rd step is, HOW was the PS handled NOW?  What steps are you and/or your family doing NOW to survive the PS?  The 4th Step is, HOW can the PS be handled differently in a better way?  This is WHAT and HOW are you going to do in the future to handle the PS in a better way? Now that you have completed the first 4 steps,  you are ready to do steps 5 and 6. Step five is a Homework Assignment: Put the first 4 steps into action by using what you have learned and wrote down on a piece of paper. Step 6 is more of an easier assignment, but only if necessary: A-P-O-L-O-G-I-Z-E...APOLOGIZE TO THE OTHER PERSON THAT YOU HAVE OFFENDED, IF IT IS YOUR FAULT, AND IF IT IS NECESSARY!! And that, my friends, is the SEI Plan!  Sounds and looks 'simple' doesn't it? It is a lot harder than that!  Sometimes there are "extenuating circumstances", which are the following: (a) our pride and stubborness, and (b) sometimes we just don't know for sure what the problem is.  That will take longer to work on, guarantee you! Anyway, in closing, please let me thank you for listening to me and reading this post. It is greatly appreciated!Sincerely,Jon Marshall/JDM50662
