Rant against the machine called life
A funny thing happened to me on the way to hip surgery....
Yesterday I felt a tick on my right side, kind of 4 inches or so below my armpit. I reached accross with my left hand...as far as I could reach...and pulled it out. It was a wood tick (not deer) so no big deal. Today I have a big hot swollen bump (about 6 inches long) around the bite...just got back from the doc and was put on 10 days of antibiotics for an infection. This doc called my surgeons office and talked with his assitant (surgery is in 7 days). He then told me that they may or may not contact me...surgery may or may not have to be put off...anxiety and frustration through the roof. I have people coming, time off, Gin took time off, all kinds of planning and prep and doc appointments, etc. It may have to be all done over again....just venting...breathing...THERE, now I'm better!

Oh (expletive) on your behalf. That'd make me *nuts*. On the other hand... that's a heck of a tick reaction. Fingers crossed you'll be cleared for scheduled procedure and it works out.
Leo, ty for the good wishes. It is a crazy tick reaction. The doc didn't seem that surprised by it, just said that it depends on what kind of virus the tick is carrying, or something like that. I've never seen anything like it.
Oh crap kel, why is it only this kind of crap happens to those of us that can't handle anxiety and stress already. I'm so sorry. Vent away, I am praying you feel better soon.
Kind of funny...found a second one on me now. What happens will happen I guess. The swollen spots aren't going down yet...but I've been scratching hem some. I'll be good today.
Kel, I feel that. Don't scratch, okay? I get crazy mosquito bite reactions. "Dirty bites", is the way my doc termed it. May not necessarily be something to make you sick, but your skin sure as heck doesn't like it. *puma paw bump*
