Unfortunately there is a return policy. My daughter used it. Does God understand hopelessness? Since I do, I have to assume God does it isn\'t possible for me to have any power of thought, action or understanding that is greater than God\'s. Accidents happen; so do suicides, murder, and many other atrocities. We can either trust that God is able to use even the worst suffering, if not directly for the person experiencing it, at least toward some greater purpose we can\'t know; or we can be angry and hate God, blame Him, turn our backs on Him. Life is a gift, yes. And it\'s not permanent. I understand your anger and bitterness, I have felt them myself at moments. I wonder WHY MY DAUGHTER, with such beauty inside and out, so smart, so full of JOY, and then the onset of depression, social phobia, all around age 13-14, finally resolving in the onset of a serious mental illness that was literally destroying her. WHY -- my only child, for whom I prayed before even believing I could, or would, actually have a child. She was in my arms and in my life for 23 years, the number I was given as a child, a significant number in my life. And then she went home.God did not design this torment for any of us, it is a part of living in this \"veil of tears\", but He can use it, He can strengthen us and comfort us. We have to accept this help or reject it. That is our individual choice.
God gave us all free will..It was the free will of that 18 year old that dictated the end of my child\'s life..not God..But he did ordain it..Otherwise, my son would have survived the accident. In the bible there are only 2 unforgivable sins :
Mark 3:22-30
\"And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, \'He has Beelzebub,\' and, \'By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.\' \'Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation;\' because they said, \'He has an unclean spirit\'\" (NKJV, emphasis added / Note: The Pharisees made the same charge in Mat 9:34.).
In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus says to the Pharisees,
\"Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come\" (NKJV, emphasis added).
Everything else is forgivable in the eyes of God as long as you have accepted Christ in your heart..Yes, your Daughter excersized her free will and used the Return policy on her life..God knows I think of doing the same day after day...But she is with the Lord..I\'m sure.
I now am trying to remind myself of My New favorite Psalm:
\" I am dying of Grief; My years are shortened by sadness. Misery has drained my strength; I am wasting away from within. But I Am trusting you O Lord, Saying \"You Are My God.\" My future is in your hands! Psalm 31:10 14-15...Every time I feel like hitting the return button I remind myself of this verse..
Michelle,
I just want to let you know I am thinking about you, praying for you. I know this is a very difficult time for you and your family.
With love,
Leda
