Rambling Down Memory Lane

Took a trip down memory lane and was hoping maybe some of yall would like to share some special memories... My feet were almost as warm as the memories...   I remember mama kept bricks in the bottom drawer of the oven warming all day.  At night she'd wrap the bricks in a thick towel and put them at the foot of our bed.  Ohhhh boy did that feel good when we'd climb into bed and rest our feet on those bricks...   A Favorite Toy Remembered   I remember a Susie Smart Doll my mama bought me for Christmas when I was 6.  She had her own desk and her own chalk board.  She wore a white blouse with a black ribbon bow at the neck.  She also wore red, blue and green plaid skirt and little black shoes.  Her hair was shiny blond.  She'd say, Hi, my name is Susie Smart... and 2+2=4....  My mama was raising us pretty much on her own.  She paid $5 a week for my doll and a bicycle she bought my brother David until it was all paid for.   I miss my mama... A whole lot of us may feel sad when we think about the fact that they aren't with us any more... but as sad as I am... I'm much so glad that I had the mama I had... I love you mama.

Sweet memories...I remember my oldest sister taking me out for 5 cent rootbeers, toting me along on her dates and for cruises. That was way back in the day when a quarter worth of gas in her old Nash Metropolitan went pretty far. Love you.

When I was first married I bought a motor bike. My sister was just waiting to turn 16 so she could drive it herself. We scooted all over on it...of course our Mom didn\'t know about it...she was a little over protective of us. I hid it up my Grams alleyway. One day when I was returning it to its hidie place...my sister gleefully riding on back...my Mom came out my Gram\'s back door...suffice it to say....Game over! She pressured me into selling it two days before Pat turned 16.
That summer...down in Wildwood....we rented two motor bikes and rode all over the shore. Mom would have really hit the overhead except when we pulled up in front of the apartment we rented ...Gram was on the back of mine and Aunt was on the back of hers. I just love it when things work out.
