Rambling Down Memory Lane
Took a trip down memory lane and was hoping maybe some of yall would like to share some special memories... My feet were almost as warm as the memories... I remember mama kept bricks in the bottom drawer of the oven warming all day. At night she'd wrap the bricks in a thick towel and put them at the foot of our bed. Ohhhh boy did that feel good when we'd climb into bed and rest our feet on those bricks... A Favorite Toy Remembered I remember a Susie Smart Doll my mama bought me for Christmas when I was 6. She had her own desk and her own chalk board. She wore a white blouse with a black ribbon bow at the neck. She also wore red, blue and green plaid skirt and little black shoes. Her hair was shiny blond. She'd say, Hi, my name is Susie Smart... and 2+2=4.... My mama was raising us pretty much on her own. She paid $5 a week for my doll and a bicycle she bought my brother David until it was all paid for. I miss my mama... A whole lot of us may feel sad when we think about the fact that they aren't with us any more... but as sad as I am... I'm much so glad that I had the mama I had... I love you mama.
