RAINING//went to church sale//countries think foreigners who use left hand are disgusting

its raining.  will be raining until "hurricane" erika is gone.

went to the church opening sale today.  nice to see everyone.  its in a nice building and very organized.  they had free cookies and iced tea.  nicely set up.  it used to be the rectory for the nuns.  the upstairs is meeting rooms now.  the garage is "ron's cave" and has electronics in it.  he is a former almost-priest, he left and married before he took his vows.  then it was a pre-school and the pre-school is now where the store was.

got the book, "you're not a kid anymore ... " by jeff foxworthy. will post some of it later.  HILARIOUS.  you just sit there and laugh.

Using your left hand for anything is considered DISGUSTING in Africa, India, Sri Lanka and the Middle East.  Not all cultures have or use toilet paper, and tend to use their left hand in lieu of it. Accepting gifts, eating, or doing pretty much anything with your left hand in much of Africa, India, Sri Lanka and the Middle East is considered disgusting.

i read years ago of chinese thinking same way about left hand....capitalist revolution in china of last decades has been interesting to me, with one documentary about how after mao\'s death, bic pens and collapsable umbrellas were allowed to be sold in china, with chinese amazed at such inventions---in late 1970s.

one very real article, not a joke, on site from foreigner in china, had post of sign in public rest room of used tp should be place in basket in rest room, and not flushed down!!!
