rain
rain
rain, slick over windows
blurring the outside
into something softer, kinder
tapping quietly against roof tops
dripping heavily off the deep green branches
running down the streets under kids' boots
splashing up from the car tires
seeping into crevices, dark and narrow
cooling and sweetening the air
soaking hats and hair and faces
upturned to look at the grey sky
to see the small pellets of water
coming down, ghostly and pure
washing things clean for awhile.

This is beautiful.
thank you very much. I like this particular poem or whatever also because it reminds me of my childhood. i grew up in a rural town where it rained a lot. There was something so beautiful and intimate and creative and purifying about the rain. I tried to capture that.
