Race for Life

I completed the Race for Life yesterday. It was 5km, mostly uphill and in aid of cancer research. I've so far raised over £100 and hope to raise a bit more in the next few weeks. All money goes to the research of how to cure cancer which is a subject very close to my heart.
For those that haven't seen the race for life, or live outside the UK the race is for women only and everyone is issued with a number and a sign to pin on your back with a message. On that message you explain why you or running or who you are running for. There were a lot of signs racing for family and friends, a few racing because they have survived, but one lady really spurred me on.
On her sign it said she raced for 'Anna' and underneath was a picture of a baby, with the words, 'she keeps laughing through the pain' turned out it was the ladies 18month old daughter. It really brought a tear to my eye.
I'm so proud of  myself for finishing the race and for raising money for a good cause. I hope to do it again next year

Wow.....I would have cried for poor Anna, too. It\'s horrible enough when adults get cancer, but I just don\'t understand why kids should have to suffer with something so awful. It\'s wonderful that you went out and did this......you SHOULD be proud that you did it! I\'m proud of you too. YOU GO GIRL! You rock!! xoxo
