Rabbit Trails

A series of events lead to a series of rabbit trail thoughts and deep contemplation which lead me to searching through emails which lead me back to my blog/journal and wow.

I used to be a really eloquent writer.  I mean, not always, but...wow.

What the heck happened?  These days, I feel like stringing two sentences together leaves me worn out and confused.  Is this an old age thing or a "use it or lose it" thing?

I should have been a writer.  Like.  A real one.  That ship has clearly sailed.

Why has that ship sailed? The one of the best books I\'ve read is The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein. It was his first novel and he was 93! You might consider publishing your recovery journal

I think that ship has sailed as I have lost the knack - and the drive. One can always polish one\'s talents, but only with a great deal of practice.

I once read somewhere that 10,000 hours is the magic number one needs to invest to master something. I can\'t even imagine investing 100 \"serious\" hours in writing.

Or maybe I just need a good editor. I hear they can work magic! ;)

You know what? Screw it. The Shades of Gray author had hideous writing skills. Clearly, her writing became extemely popular in spite of her lacking skillz. ;)

First of all, your writing continues to be well worded and and thought out. Me? Im all over the place. As a kid/teen, I wanted to write a book about growing up with an alcoholic . Now I think if writing about my adult life. Cheating, child with rare brain disorder, mother in law dies in earthquake, son with addiction , another son in the Marines.

So much to write about and nothing but chaotic thoughts and brain farts! Maybe a free of us could write a joint book. Each getting 2 chapters to tell their story.

Not a bad idea! Hm... accountability would probably help me be more consistent, too.

But don\'t forget, we\'re still doing the \"repairing your marriage\" cruise line, too. THAT HAS TO HAPPEN. ;)
