I got spider-man. i have never watched "love actually." is it good?
i'm a spiderman fan, i even have a stuffed spiderman in my living room.
sitting around munching christmas shortbread cookies. they are GOOD. with sprinkles on them. just finished c-cards to send out via the real mail. still have shopping to do. grrrrr.
in addition to the man down the street dying. isl was by and her "ex" husband found out she was seeing someone (they are divorced two years now). so he sent her a scathing text message saying, "...don't call me if you ever have cancer... have you had sex with this guy you are seeing... my guess is you have...." realllllly nasty stuff. she says her ex-husband has tried to go back with her two times and both times HE opted not to, HE is also the one who left, cheated on HER, and filed for divorce and is still with that same girlfriend. unreal. i told her to print out his text (however you do that) so she will REMEMBER exactly what he wrote, and then erase it from her phone, otherwise its a constant reminder inside one's phone. friggin psycho man.
its that time of year. melodrama and tragedy. it is BEST to go away for the holidays. a ski slope sounds so good right now. china town, a community of people from india....
The way christmas is "celebrated" in usa brings out the crazy in people because it causes high stress. christmas isn't supposed to be about capitalism. its supposed to be commemorating the ideals of jesus - its his birthday we are acknowledging. people know more about the fable of santa than they do about the life of christ. all the melodrama ruins the whole thing - its not funny, its repulsive. its jesus's BIRTHDAY! did you bake him a cake? do you have a jesus stocking hung up full of scraps of paper of nice things in your life, good deeds done, things you aspire to do this year. anything? its a holy-day - as the word "holiday" was spelled one hundred years ago and probably still should be.
fell asleep on the way home yesterday, so i didn't get home until 7 a.m. omg! painting the house knocked me out. now there is water overflowing in the bathroom again. so will need to call the plumber. i already know what is wrong - we need new pipes, he says they are full of sand and the pipes are UNDER the cement driveway -- which used to be part of the yard back in 1940... no one checked for pipes when they put in the carport and driveway 10 years ago. so the plumber would have to drill with a jack-hammer through the cement to add new pipe, or re-pipe the whole thing a different way! omg! he cleared them as best he could a couple of years ago, but he said this would happen. also need to make sure no one did anything in the back as last time, he said that is what caused a lot of the trouble. someone reconnected something that shouldn't be ... he said this would happen after a while, from one to five years (when he was here last year or the year before), will have to check my journal to see when it was. or my check book? this time of year is always bad.
went to lunch with the girls - js is a big surprise just popping in. i expect her to be working, even if its the holidays. headed to the marina. we are still having perfect weather (its identical to south florida winter weather, low 80's and low humidity, makes me homesick). quieter lately as well. yay!

we also need a wax seal on that toilet...don\'t remember why he didn\'t do that? it hasn\'t leaked since he was here back then though. its one year ago, i looked it up.
