Quit Smoking

Well I have not had a hit of nicotine, in any form for 9 days!!! I have been a smoker since i was thirteen years old, and I will be fifty one in a few weeks. I highly recommend anyone even entertaining the thought of quitting to read Allen Carr's  "Easy Way" to quit smoking. Although maybe not easy or me, it certainly  has been a lot easier!

Way to go Hummingbird1 - you can do it! Hubbie smokes, and at the moment doesn\'t want to quit : ) But I\'ll look into that book. I\'ve heard Chantix is a good smoking cessation drug too.

Thank you! The thought of pills, patches, nicotine replacements all bothered me. What works with this book is that he gets rid of the myths that we tell ourselves and focuses on the addiction to nicotine without scare tactics. He treats the smoker like a thinking human being. Like your husband too I wasn\'t sure that I was ready to quit either. You deserve a smoke free environment too.

Thanks Pitstop......I thought it was time to get all of the toxins out of my life! I have to tell you something. I was just reading back over the messages of support that I was given from all of you last summer when my parents signed the affidavit, and how you reminded me to take note and remember when in the future I might weaken. Well, I had no sooner finished reading this when I found out that my Mom had, had a stroke. It was a small one, and she is still completely functioning, but of course it gives me pause. I will send her a card. How far I have come!!!
