Quit playing
I have to quit playing around now. Time to get serious again about refraing from alcohol. It is going to difficult because my husband sits here and drinks constantly. He just doesn't care...plain and simple.
I'm going to ask him again to please have enough respect for what I am doing and not drink in front of me all the time. Wish me luck. When I first quit and started AA he commented that most poople are not successful going to AA. Then proceeded to bring home two bottles of wine and sit them on the kitchen counter.
Please send prayers out for me. It is going to be a battle. As if it isn't hard enough all ready.

even if he doesn't comply and still drinks in front of you-you will just have to try to be even stronger and keep a chart for yourself and every time you get th e urge but don't drink -give yourself a star or something
It sounds like your husband has a death wish, not just for him but for you as well.
There is no reason why your husband can't drink with his drinking buddies wherever they live! With all due respect, if it were me and hubby did not respect my wishes, I would tell him, "If you want to kill yourself with a bottle, then....knock yourself out! But you are NOT going to drink around me!" and if he does, I would find a good divorce lawyer!
If my life was on the line like yours is, I wouldn't use the excuse of my husband's drinking to drink myself and to hasten the inevitable, I would do everything it takes, to put that bottle down and to never ever touch that stuff again because life is too important to me to give it up to an excuse that has no power whatsoever!
I love ya and I want you to want to live so you can have the same happy life that I do!
God Bless!
Thank you Bob. It's time to get real now. I'm seeing a liver doctor 25th to talk about Hep C treatment and what I can do about my liver. Forever grateful for your friendship.
I can't afford to live alone Bob.....or I would have done it years ago. Believe me I am not that naive just dumb.
