Quick Check-in
Hi, friends, It's been too long since I wrote, and probably too long until I write again. The only time I'm at the computer is in the mornings, when I'm working at this new 1/2 time job. I think I can get away with some internet, but I'm a little shy about the support group stuff. I have been updating my blog more or less: www.AchievingConceiving.blogspot.com. Lately I have been feeling two things:1) Panic that things won't get done. I have two deadlines for two different levels of doneness: Sunday for when my in-laws get here for Christmas, and "sometime soon" for when the babies get here for, well, forever. I'm more worried about the in-laws. We're converting the basement into a guest room, as the babies have already taken the existing guestroom for themselves. There's been lots of construction and rearranging and reorganizing. I'm soooo tired. 2) Fatigue. Regular fatigue, sleepiness fatigue, fatigue at the idea of fatigue (this gets me first thing in the morning when I try to roll out of bed, and then I remember...) The worst is that I feel like I'm going to pass out all the time. My upper arms get woozy. I don't know what that means or why that is, but it's the sensation I have before I throw up on the ultrasound table, which I do like clockwork. I generally think it's that I'm cutting off my own circulation by lying on my back, but now it happens when I lie on my right side and sometimes when I just lean my back against the chair or couch I'm sitting on. I failed a glucose test a few days ago, that first one-hour round. Since then I've learned that you're supposed to fast ahead of time. That probably doesn't include stuffing that banana in my mouth in the elevator on the way to take the test. So I'll go in for the three-hour follow-up. I hear it's no fun, especially if you do it the right way and fast. You leave having had blood drawn four times, being completely famished, and having had wanna-be Kool-aid as the only thing in your system for 16 hours. I do look forward to it. I really haven't felt all that tortured lately. I'm posting some pictures of my new big self. The other day in my office bathroom I realized I could see myself from all angles. Specifically, I got a look at my hips -- which are disguised in most of my outfits. "Child-bearing hips" was the only thing I could say to myself to make myself feel better. So the next day I brought a camera to document the whole experience. Mostly I look like I'm wearing a tent, but you definitely get the idea! I love you girls and hope everybody's doing well. My Christmas wish is that 2009 be better for you than 2008. Love, Kay
