Do we have free will or is it just an illusion? I believe we do not have free will. Seven Brief Lessons on Physics by Carlo Rovelli discusses this in the last chapter. He argues, because of quantum physics we do have free will. I find, in an otherwise very good book, his argument for free will is very poorly done. Even if events are not predetermined, in my mind it is not my will that controls those events.
I could no more decide to go have a drink today than I could have stopped from having a drink the last time.
