Putting off the appt

Ive been putting off going to the doctor but the pain ive been feeling stays permanantly and doesnt come and go as usual.  Ive put going to the doctor off long enough and I cant shake the feeling it wont be good news.  Ive been trying to use the mind over matter thing and trying to stay off those medical websites so I dont get myswlf worked up.

Ive been trying to look at the big picture and decide whats best for me..but first I gotta find out whats going on.  This past weekwnd I suffered a terrible migraine headache and was down and out both days.  Im usually up by midnight worrying.

Im going to just tey to focus on hour to hour now..getting ready for work, then payroll, then home.  Until I find out whats going on, im going to be a mess.

I look at it this way. The likelihood of something horrifically medically
critical going on is probably low. If you are going to websites for answers only go to actual legit sources like Mayo or something like that. There are a lot of sites that tend to drum up hysteria and they aren’t based on legitimate scientific evidence.

So go to your doctor. They can be a great source of support. They’ll run some labs which might offer some insight or rule out serious stuff. Knowledge is ultimately power.

Also, if you are struggling with depression, don’t under estimate how that can make your body feel. It can cause pain, feeling unwell, etc. Not blaming everything on that but it can really have an affect on physical well-being.

Many things that are potentially bad, are curable if found early. Might be a good idea to talk to your doctor just the same.

But I get it. I hate going to my doctor also. When I had a tick bite that resulted in a little rash, I had no idea it was lyme disease until it spread all across my chest almost overnight and the pain was so bad, I had no choice but to seek medical attention. Luckily, doctor got rid of it but it took 2 years before it was completely gone. Had I gone in sooner, it probably wouldn't have taken that long. I know it's not the same as you but it's just an example of what can sometimes happen if we ignore pain. Pain is there for a reason.

God Bless.

I hate going to the doctor too. I just don't like to bother and there is that phenomenon where you're afraid to go because you're afraid they'll tell you it's something serious. But that just means you're in your head worrying yourself to death anyway about the what ifs, so it's probably better to know and deal with it than not know and continue to suffer emotionally as a result.

I have ulcerative colitis. I was sick for a couple of years before finally being diagnosed. I suffered on and off with symptoms until they because unmanageable and by that time, I swear I thought I had colon cancer. I was so sick and so frightened. Finally, I gave in and got a name of a really good GI doctor and he was able to diagnose me after some tests. I was so incredibly relieved to get that diagnosis. It's not a great disease to have by any means, but it's better than stage IV colon cancer which is what I thought he was going to tell me.

That was a good lesson for me, to be proactive in being well. It was so silly to wait to get help. I could have saved myself a lot of physical and emotional pain and misery had I been more proactive in getting to the bottom of it sooner.
