Put together a cage
It's not much, but I'm challenge when it comes to putting things together. Took after my father. Before I married, mom assembled everything. I still remember sitting on the floor watching her assemble a desk. After she passed, I got married and my husband did it. Now, I'm alone. Sort of. I could call my son-in-law, but I decided that I needed to do it myself. I'm still relatively young and didn't want to end up calling on anyone to help me with tasks that I could do myself.
That being said, my bird needs a travel cage, someplace to sit when I'm away for extended periods of time. I bought a cage and immediately felt afraid that I couldn't assemble it. Over the next hour I read the instructions and started the pain-staking task of assembling it. I finished it fine and my bird now has a nice second home.
My husband would be proud.

Good for you! That\'s just the kind of attitude you need to make it thru this most difficult of times. Be proud of yourself and enjoy feeling the sense of accomplishment.

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! What a major accomplishment! You will begin to believe that you CAN do all these things - hurray!
Well done! Don\'t get frustrated if you buy somethng from Ikea though...wanted to throw several items through the window trying to assemble them! Need more that stick fiqures, holding a screwdriver with a name of a part that is definately not in English. Bet your bird will be very happy! Cheers, Cindy
That is wonderful! Some things can be such a pain to put together too. It does feel good to realize we can do things on our own. Having been with my husband since the age of 17, I didn\'t have much practice in the DIY or manual assembly areas. I am learning though. Like you, I don\'t want to call on my kids to do something I can tackle on my own. WE CAN DO IT!
