Puppies...
I was helping my friend deliver her first litter of puppies out of her boston terrier. the x rays she had gotten showed 4 pups, possibly 6. we waited all day... and finally the first one started to come out, yesterday, around 6pm. after about 5 minutes i knew the puppy was stuck. the sack had broken, and i tried and tried to pull that puppy out, i couldnt get it. after a half hour i had her call the vet and we threw the mom in the car... i finally got the puppy out in the car, it was dead, it had been too long, i still tried to revive it. it was a HUGE puppy. the mom was having trouble getting them out. my friend considered a seasection, but the first vet we talked to said it would probably cost around 3,000 dollars. and was not unusual to get up that high. so it scared us. he didnt give us a timeline on when it could all become dangerous or we could lose more puppies, nothing. we enduced her, to have more and harder contractions, with that she was able to push out two puppies, with all our help. turns out there were 7 puppies in there total, a HUGE litter, and HUGE puppies. she ended up having to have a seasection to save the dog, which costed HALF of what the vet had said. and there was a way to keep costs down. he never went over it with us. all the puppies were dead, cause we had waited too long except those two. a little boy and girl. all in all, if she would have just done a seasection when we walked through the door like my friend wanted to, it would have costed about 1200. now it costed more cause of all the enducing and IV stuff and time. IT was sad. my friend was upset, and it was just sad. and i find myself very attatched to the little girl puppy. i held her quite a bit with her brother while we tried to get the other puppies out of mom. she just liked to cuddle. i wish i had money and a place, i WANT her. i dont even like boston terriers much, but i WANT her. she makes me happy. so i guess i kinda bonded with the little one. the people who live here with me are probably going to buy her. that might be hard for me. especially cause they are allowed to have a dog, another dog on top of the two they have, and a horse here, they dont pay, but i get hounded, and im family. and i had to give up my cats. and i really want this dog. and i know i cant afford it, but it would be hard to have her here and watch her run around and get to play with her and know that i cant have any say in her. especially when there was no reason why i couldnt have kept my cats. this house has mice anyway. ok.im exhausted, been at this for well over 24 hours with hardly any sleep.

on another note, its hard when you just \"BOND\" with an animal like that. especially for me right now.
i remember one dog before i had the same feeling with... i never forgot her, and i always wanted her and thought of her. i LOVE animals. but this type of bonding is deep, like they were just made for me.
hell, im half debating going to work anyway so i can have her, and i think she would help me too, i know i got this baby coming, and im ready for that, but then again, i have alot of lonely times, and i think a pet would work well for me that can be with me and go places.
I dont know... LOL... all this over a puppy.
OMG, im obsessing... my horse and i never bonded like this, our bond was through years of work and sweat and blood and tears.
I dont know what to do. GRRR...
I can totally understand - my little Bella has changed my life - I never thought I could fall so hard for a little animal. Your friend is very fortunate you were there with her. I am so sorry of the trouble you had with the vet. Considering the vet is there to save animals it seems very strange that it came down to money. hmmm.
Cuddle that little puppy for me - how precious.
Hugs and love Suzi
Wow, what an ordeal drak...I know how you feel, I absolutely love my animals...they are my family. So sorry things went as they did...hope you can find a way to have the puppy. Love ya, Dianne
There\'s a guy named H.L. Menchen. He said that the reason a dog is a man\'s (or woman\'s) best friend is that when a man makes a fool of himself, a dog goes out and does likewise. I\'ve had dogs all my life and they have never critizized my behavior. They love no matter what, and in their world five minuites is the same as five days or five hours. There is no greater loyalty than that of a dog that is loved. And we say people are the more intelligent species...right....
right older dragon... LOL i have my horses, but they hold grudges sometimes...
i need to find a way to get this dog!!! and she would be ready to come home on my birthday!!
