Punch Punch
my parents have been married 62 years. I think I've seen my father cry twice in all that time. Both of these times it was because of a death of a loved one or severe illness in the family. But today I saw something that broke my heart. Those of you who have read my journals before know that my mom has Alzheimer's. I saw my mom actually punch my father. This happened in my house. He did nothing out of the ordinary. She accused him of not loving her anymore. He is still crying at 6:30 PM she hit him at 9 o'clock morning. I asked him how long could he possibly put up with her erratic behavior. His simple answer to me was until the day I die. To watch someone crumble away with Alzheimer's is almost too sad to be believed.

I agree with the above post. Please have someone get your dad some help.. Her condition will not improve and things will not get any better for either of you. Thoughts prayers hugs-Stephanie
Thats really sad my grandma has that too and they act out of character more and more as it gets worse.
My grandma has really changed and its sad to think that there is nothing that anyone can do to change it. Good Luck and God Bless you
WOW!!! I really have to commend your father for sticking by your mother, no matter what happens. That is true love right there. But I can\'t even imagine how absolutely CRUSHED he felt when she hit him.......
