Reading each journey prompt me to join this group and share....I was diagnosed 06/2016 with right side PE....at the time i was 47 years of age....i experienced shortness of breath & chest pain....i was placed on xarelto..had a bad bleed 07/2016 as a result of that blood thinner...Blessed to still be among the living....one week after my bad bleed i was placed on warfin and had to have an IVC filter placed...fast forward 03/2017...I'm doing well on Coumadin my INR levels are finally therapeutic..I now go once a month to the anticoagulant clinic...i might as well get comfortable..I'll be going the rest of my life...as of 03/2017..i still have symptoms as day one when diagnosed....along with shortness of breath..i also have chest pain and pressure..eveything cardiac was ruled out..so now my pulmonary doctor is sending me for another ct scan ..he says i may have inflammation of the lining of my lungs from the PE...my days now consist of doctor appts..this is a very long road to recovery...i was told some recover quickly..some it takes awhile...other never fully recover...it's been nine months for me....i pray I start to see better days.

I pray you have a speedy recovery. In June 2017 I was too diagnosed with PE due to taking the birth control pill for 2 months. Had exact same symptoms as you but the PET scan showed hot spots near my lungs to as a mass was discovered there. On 9/5/17 I had a broncoscope and that was no fun to biopsy my mass near lungs so praying that too is nothing to be of concern. So it's good to have the PET scan ASAP because then you can figure out next steps. Best regards and God bless.

Thank you....i pray all is going well with you & your recovery....After all said & done..i now live with lung scarring and a partial collapse lung as well as COPD ...NEVER knew the damage a blood clot could cause...I've had bronchitis 12/2017...i start & end my day with my symbocort inhaler..some days i have to use my rescue inhaler....when that doesn't work i have to do a nebulizer treatment....I'm slowly learning to except the new normal of my life...it's been a ride!!..
