pulmonary embolism
Hello I recently had a pulmonary embolism and found out I have a rare blood disorder called Factor 5 Leiden looking for some positive feedback on if anyone has gone through this and how long a recovery from a PE.Its been about three weeks and my recovery is going very slow very discouraged.It has been very emotional time for myself and my familyFeeling very Useless from this slow recovery,hard to sleep and ups and down of emotions,anger wondering why me after six back surgeries looking for some feedback Thank You

Hello, Well as the usual I am so sorry that you have this condition. As with all of us, it comes as a total shock and a why me? My sisters all 5 of them have been tested only one came up positive luckily. That one thing you might what to check out your siblings and parents and children? It is genitic my father we belive passed it to us.
As I approach my 8 month mark, I did the 6 month run on couimindin. Now I have been off for 6 weeks and doing good. The pain in the chest does get better but takes awhile, your clots are pulling off the nerve endings of the lungs. It will get better with time.
Please don\'t try and rush your recovery it takes alot of time. Generally it should take about 6 months to clear the lungs on coumindin that was what I was told and did.
Look for a great team of DRs a hemotoligist for a blood work up,I have a great family phyisan, Also my OB has become My best friend truely a blessing. They are both on speed dial and I can email any time I have questions.

hi i suffered a pe a month ago and have been off work for approx 8 weeks.My employer has been great hes told me to take as long as i need off but my doctor says to go back on\'light duties\'. With the employment i am in there is no work based on \'light duties\' so i am in a big predicament.I know my body isnt ready to go back and stand for 9 hours at a time.the most ive stood is 45 minutes then had to sit for about 2 hrs as i felt ill.Im on warfarin and at present my inr is 1.4
