Public Transportation
Things get so awkward whenever I travel, especially if I'm alone. On a DAILY BASIS, people STARE at me for long periods of time. Whether I'm on the bus or the train, taking a walk or with my friends, outsiders always feel compelled to stare at my face. It upsets me a lot because I feel that this is down right disrespectful. I understand that I look different and that certain areas of my face don't look like the rest of the population. However, that doesn't mean that staring or gawking at my face is acceptable. Sometimes I wish individuals were a bit more knowledgeable about clefts and other deformities in general. Maybe it'll teach them some respect. This is a daily struggle for me. And I hate it.
