PTSD Barbie II

Was it the late 70's or early 80's when civillian therapists began channeling me toward "Incest Survivor's Support Groups?" The facts are probably available somewhere in my therapy journal from that era, but I be far from convinced that facts are very helpful in dealing with the Psychotic Puppet Shows in my head. facts and psychosis are about as compatible as bleach and ammonia. Good luck containing the resulting gasses.

In the current sorting of what I have dubbed, "The PTSD Barbie Puppet Show" I am currently suspecting that PTSD Barbie followed me from the Incest Survivor's Support Groups. Those intensely femininist groups didnae work well for me. The unforgiving chump-dumping intensity of their commisseration felt like someone was throwing gas on my internal fires. I kept leaving their company in full combat mode, ready to do battle on whatever penile life support system crossed my warpath. Male children included. They would grow up to be Abusive Men sooner or later. Get your enemy while they are still vulnerable.

I havenae ever been a great admirer of commiseration. My personal favorite place to find sympathy is in the dictionary between "Shit" and "Syphillis." We all have problems and commiseration seems to dig pits of despair beneath the problems withnae so much as a thought to solutions for those problems. I seldom tell my trauma tales to commisurators. I *go there* in search of solutions. Save the commiseration for your private pity parties. I willnae be attending, thank you kindly. I like solutions over wallowing.

The good news is that the PTSD Barbie Puppet Show is far quieter this morning as I wallow gratefully in the peaceful calm of the morning. Yesterday morning started with a drive to retrieve the last of the goodies in the old house which we need for up here. Big Bro needed the game jersey that got lost in the move. We found it behind the craft table. Big Sis needed ointment for a bothersome itch in her private parts. Skin ointments and creams were still in the old bathroom. The sisters were thoroughly enchanted by the nostalgic wanders through the old house. Big Bro, not so much. His six year old memory is more developed than his sisters. More to sort. Be patient with the process, Little Man. He wasnae much help in the hunt for the game jersey, but he was thrilled to hear we had found it.

Interesting stuff seems to be happening in the newly reclaimed Chick Room. The recycled Lego collection sent by a tech co-worker who seems to be evolving into Hubby's bee products sales manager is spread across the clean, empty floor. While Big Bro and Big Sis work out their protocols for entering each other's private sanctuaries, they are meeting up in the Lego room for some truly spectacular sharing. Go guys. Am I imagining Tony Brown's mellow NPR commentary floating across the room with his "Team America" series? So or no, his hopeful commentary sure beats the screechy hysterics of PTSD Barbie. Poor booby. So sorry your painted predator hunts keep landing you with men I wouldn't wipe my feet on. Hope you get your fixed income entitlement checks.

Now you've got ME imagining Tony Brown's mellow NPR commentary floating across MY room, arfie. Ha! Beats the screechy hysterics of my own PTSD, though. Whatever works. Thanks for that, and blessings to you for another day.

With each post about “PTSD Barbie”, I keep having these old reoccurring memories from my childhood and the Barbies I had back then, Arfie. And to be honest they’re of the few fond memories I have.

For a long time, especially after the abuse, it was just me & my sister (back then was brother), because we were considered “tainted” by everyone. So we played together and one of our favorite games was GI Joe vs Barbie.

Ever seen what a M80 firecracker does to a Barbie?

Both my sister and I always made Barbie the enemy and I have some very happy memories of “Black Cats” & “M80s” vs Barbie.

Just thought I’d share. Not sure if it’s relevant or appropriate but strapping a M80 to a Barbie is always the first thought that goes through my warped brain when I see “PTSD Barbie”.

Hugs, support & love, Arfie

Tony Brown is wa-a-a-ay more than just a pretty voice. At age 86, he remains my Equal Opportunity Ass-Kicking hero. EEOAK Hero? Which reminds me that it has been awhile since I've caught up with "Tony Brown's Journals."

For what it's worth: Good luck getting me near any firecrackers of any power designator without a bucket of water to soak them in. Not even for Barbie, with or without GI Joe's disability pension.

My own strongest age-unknown memory of the Doll Wars is listening to my 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters arguing the diffs between Barbie and GI Joe. The argument concluded that the diffs were on the inside. My preverbal logic couldn't leave that one alone. I dissected those dolls in search of those diffs. When I was caught in the act, the unsupervised and trauma-affected elder sibs were quite united in their judgement that Brat Sis needed to be hog-tied and thrown into a closet. I remain far from certain how long that sentence lasted. Proof unavailable, but I remember ^it^ feeling like an eternity. Trolls are the only dolls I've ever been on friendly terms with. My hand-made troll clothes might have won design contests if such contests existed. I jazzed their funky hair pretty good, too.

Big Bro doesn't seem to go for the boy dolls much, if at all. He likes wheels and wings. Big Sis is quite sexist in her doll collection. No boys allowed. Well. . . Big Bro and Gampy are allowed, if they knock and ask permission first.

It is, indeed, a socially acceptable fucking lot to sort, Jan. The "Blessing Counters" who find their comfort in being better off than others seldom know it is *my* pain which is *their* blessing. I'm to busy with my flight instinct to be impressed with such blessings wiggles in my infected wounds. Buttttttttaaaaaa. . . I still stand by my premise that pain is pain. It exists to know something is wrong and in need of fixing. You can get lethal gangrene from a paper cut if you bless, abuse and neglect ^it^ enthusiastically enough. I might even analogize Child Sex Trafficking as cultural gangrene.

I think the work part of the move is done enough for my inner martyr. There are no time pressures in moving and/or cleaning the stuff left in the old house. I count decorating and fine tuning as stuff that is better kept for fun days. All in the fullness of time. . . For now, *just* letting the dust settle until our new normal finds its shape is work enough. That and catching up with all the loose ends that have been left dangling since the start of this storm season back in June. Foghorn rooster is crow nagging about the poop piles under the roost. . . Hubby's bees is buzzing busy and wondering where their hive maintenance man made off to. Their flight paths is getting kinda weedy. . .
