It is the first and the oldest Department of Psychology in Greece. This equipment, as well as all of the computers in the Computer Lab, were generously donated by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in 2012. A wired LAN runs across all classrooms, labs and offices, providing Internet access via the Municipality's Optical Fiber, while roof video projectors are installed in all classrooms and labs. We took special care to avoid overfitting, which often results when model training and testing takes place on partially overlapping subsets of cases. To address this rather common problem in machine learning applications in clinical research we adopted a cross-validation scheme with holdout data for final evaluation. In this manner, model testing was always performed on cases that were not considered during the training phase and, consequently, did not influence the feature selection process.
Dr. Marianna Efstathiou is a Mechanical Engineer and she received her Ph.D. from the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is a Co-founder of a start-up company that deals with 3d design, reverse engineering and 3d printing services. She has a number of publications in the fields of 3d design and the usage of innovative techniques for the investigation of ancient artifacts.

She is/was involved with various UK, European and International projects and collaborations and she is a reviewer of various international conferences as well as a reviewer of a scientific journal. Her research interests include digital games, eLearning combined with educational technologies and tools as well as academic staff development.

In 2016 she completed her studies at the MSc program "Health and Safety in the Workplace" which is organized by the Medical Department of the Democritus University of Thrace in collaboration with the Departments of Public Health and Nursing of T.E.I of Athens. Since 2010, she has attended several conferences and since 2016 she has been working as a freelancer and she is the lead scientist of the company Hygioacts. George Gkalaitsis graduated from the department of Mechanical Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki .
