Proposition

The proposition is on the table of transferring GS to the kindergarten nearest the farm. The current thought is that semester change is a good time to do so, if it needs to be done. The parental circumstances havenae improved substantially, so. . . The feasibility study is still underway. Just the little piece between Hubs and I feels like quite allot. Can we handle the core care of two young children and a newborn infant? We still donae know too many of the parental details concerning the unborn child, but for the sake of our personal processing, Hubs and I feel a compelling need to factor her in to the future potentials. She is due in January. Is it neurotic of me to believe that isnae allot of processing/preparation time for an event of that size? Shouldn't her arrival at least be safe to talk about?

Hubs and I remain resentful of the possibility of trading our Grand Time for the caretaking duties. Grand Time is where grandkids and grandparents enjoy each other's company for breaks away from the business as usual. Keeping all that business as usual running is a whole different experience. I think. I blink. I wink. I sink. Well blipety blip on the rickety ship. For sure the trade off is better than continuing the family neglect/abuse cycle. We arenae so sure of our ability to stop that cycle, though. We like to believe we've learned from our mistakes in our own parenting years, but. . . Does we really have to test that theory? I donae mind letting it be hypothetical as I hand the GKs back to their parents. I thought it was God, Itself who created that Plan. There I go with that thinking thing again.

We put the proposition to the CPS investigator yesterday. He felt the idea was worthy of exploring. Our best guess is the other grandparents are the next link in this chain of command. Praying our best guess isnae too guessy.

I'm currently typing in the extraction room of the honey barn. The internet signal isnae reliable out here, but posting can wait until I go back to the house. Hubs got his tree for his birthday. I think I am holding steady in my December exposure therapy. For sure, I am risking the sin of pride over the progress I've made in here since I started serving eviction notices to the resident wildlife in 2013.

Do you not think that the children will be with their parents within a few months sweetie?

This would be really hard.... I don't think that I could take care of 3 little ones now let alone being up half the night with a newborn …… This is tough and I feel for all of you

I hope that somehow things can be worked out for all of your sakes.... You and your family are in my prayers Arf…...xo

6 years of trying to predict this parent set has been frustrating beyond frustration. So far, their most solid pattern is that they will be asking for dollars at least once a month. We even get to pay for their "Date Nights.." Or have those morphed into "Save Our Marriage Nights?"

Leaving that as theirs to sort. . .

The time measure for this particular proposal is GS's school year. Kindergarten is not as structured as the rest of the academic experience, but it is Academia 101. "IF" we need to take over primary care for any length of time, we believe the semester measure counts, even in Kindergarten.

Thank you for the hope and prayers, Jan. Both are needed and appreciated.

"She is due in January. Is it neurotic of me to believe that isnae allot of processing/preparation time for an event of that size? Shouldn't her arrival at least be safe to talk about?" I'm not a parent, so who am I to talk? Still, even so, no, I think this is not neurotic at all and that yes, her arrival should be safe to talk about.

What a complicated, difficult, hard to sort and deal with situation. Again, arfie, you have my fullest respect and admiration at how you're managing to deal - and to plan, with all the unanswered questions, all the difficulties and insecurities. And the responsibility you're taking for your grandkids. No small deal. At all.

Continued support, arfie... I rarely have answers, but I'm ready to listen... for what it's worth...
