prom night again
Youngest is getting prepared for another high school prom, 2cnd year in a row, taking the same gal, driving his cousins 2010 Camaro. WoW he is growing out of the house fast.
This will be his 2cnd prom though he is only a junior. The gal he is escorting has been a childhood friend for a long time. She is a senior this year. My son, well I asked why he didn't invite another girl, and simply put, he feels he owes this year to her, as she took him last year. They make a cute couple, she has a older bf who feels the prom is beneath him,she also has a child from a previous bf, my son is the babies Godfather, so to speak.
I wish he was taking a potential gf, but then again sometimes I think his mother and my issues have made him a bit gun-shy of having a gf. Believe me, I certainly do not want him getting all tied up in a girl, falling head over heels,and then something going wrong. Not that I don't want to see him pie-eyed in love, everyone should experience it. But I do want him to gain a little more security for his future b4 he looks for Mrs. Right.
Its really changed, PROM used to be at the school gym, tuxes and pretty dresses and a live band. Now its a lil old building, the biggest part of the night is arrival, and who has the nicest ride. Music is downloaded, no band, no after prom activities scheduled. Life in a small town.
