Project Happiness....
i picked up the book Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and i've been reading it some. pretty good book.
She has some very good things to say about uncluttering / downsizing/ getting rid of things that are not needed/ etc.
i really do need to do more with her book. i looked up youtubers to see what others had to say about her book.... not many youtubers out there working the book, by what i could see.
i napped again today. still having sinus crapola.
HH was very very busy around the house today. we went to get tea several times today. i enjoyed that. we had a great supper. he cooked on the grill and i put it all out. very good time. we do like eating at home. we really do like the whole process of cooking and planning and even cleaning it all up.
the yards are looking good and i am not stressing about them near as much as i used to. putting out just perrineals has helped so much. and i did not put out plants that i have to water in the back and i got rid of the patio furniture that we do not use. i even got rid of the table... i quit pretending that we have over large numbers of ppl in the summer and we even eat on that patio table. in ten years i can count on one hand how many times we've eaten outside. we just don't. so we got rid of it.
now we just have a glider and 2 chairs and the hammocks, which HH really does enjoy. I still need to do some sewing for the cushions and pillows bc we really do use those.
i didn't go to the reunion today. i was still not feeling well at all...
in the book she talks about "finding Gretchen"... so i need to "find Ginger"... and honor my likes and dislikes / pursuit what truly does make me happy and stop pretending and thinking about SHOULD.
Not SHOULD but what I want to be... period.
it's a great concept and very freeing.
so i have a lot of reading to do still.

"Shoulding around" has been a hot topic in my own therapy network for decades. Sometimes we call ^it^, "Oughtism" where we worry more about what we *ought* to do than what makes sense to the unique dynamics of any given situation.
I've never heard of Gretchen Rubin, but the little you stated here resonates with our psychobabble on the subject. Hope it serves you as well as it serves me. These days, I take "should" as a psycho nag flag that I am losing my strictly personal balance. Drop everything and ply therapy tools.
