progress not profection.....
I'll admit that I am a bit frustrated with T, even as well as he seems to be doing. He still doesn't see the urgency to get his one class, chemistry, behind him. His teacher could have written him off weeks ago and fail him but she gave him a silver platter, giving him the opportunity to catch up by doing the extra work with a tutor. His guidance counselor offered to tutor him (was unavailable the last few days - or so T says) and now T is "sick" today. Has a headache. He gets, at least, one a week. When a student misses one day it's like missing two because this school is based on semesters. I also have a friend who has tutored T once of this class but, again, he doesn't see the need to do it during the week. After all, he has basketball tonight (or so he thinks) and he couldn't possibly work on it on a Friday - for goodness sake. The semester ends next week and he's only done one packet. I know I have to let this go. Considering how far he's come - this is minor, I know. I haven't called the school yet to call in sick for him. He says he has a headache. I think he's just exhausted from staying up too late the other night and it has caught up with him. I just don't want to call that school........just tired of it.........
