Progress

Hubs took extra days off in conjunction with 4th of July. The 5 day weekend was happily productive enough to zoom by like 5 hours. Today is the 4th and he has to make the three-hour-drive drive back to the homestead today to be back at his paid gig tomorrow. Sigh. He couldn't find his truck keys last night and after a frantic search, we decided to break for dinner and resume the search for the keys later. During dinner, I discovered I had his keys in my pocket. I amnae even certain how they got there. Can we call that, "A Fruedian Slip?"

Yesterday's progress in the honey barn was dramatic. Dropping the ceiling in the milking bay took out the last of the major creep factor in the barn. I love the open rafter design which lets me know exactly what is over my head. Next we (I?) will take out the milking rails which used to hold the cow heads while they were being milked. With that, I will gain access to the last of the creepy crud in what used to be their feeding trough on the other side of the milking rails. Oh happy day!! We are visibly within reach of the food grade building we need for the honey extraction process.

Best beloved sis is due in at the nearest major airport tonight. I don't feel safe driving at night any more, but for best beloved sis, I will risk the hour of night driving to be there, waiting for her plane to land. I hope she won't be too tired to take the wheel for the return drive. Insert another chorus of Oh Happy Day!! She is the only of my 10 siblings I have found a comfort zone with. How lucky is it that I can speak to only 10% of my siblings and still have a whole person to talk to?
