Program went very well
For our program for the regional PTA Officers ~ we went a bit over on time allowance - apparently- but I was told we had 55 minutes - which we used. It bothered me a bit because we had to rush the end of the program.
Other than that ~ it went extremely well. The president of the district apologized because the group was smaller than half. We were one of many presenting in breakout sessions so I knew the group was going to be small, but not THAT small - but that was fine . I loved it because we didn't have to use a microphone. Last week when we presented ~ the microphone was pretty bad. Big and brand new school but their sound system isn't up to par.
Anyway - we received great feedback from the people we presented to and many want us to present at their own schools. We'll see....
*Side note: One of T's friends mom called me the other day. Her son and my son go way back as "partners in crime". It took a few years before I "met" his friend's mom on the phone. There was a lot of understandable resentment she had about my son back then because he had broken into their home and stole some of their things. Because of what my son did ~ her son became angry and they ended up fighting - her son - broken arm - my son - broken nose. No charges were placed because the detective said it was "even". Anyway - bridges were mended - my son apologized and charmed his way into practically living at their home. Of the course of the last few years the mom and I would sometimes talk on the phone for hours, even though I never met her in person. Anyway - she called for an update and wanted to know how my son is doing away at school. She told me that her son isn't living at home anymore.
Then in the course of the conversation ~ she told me that about a year ago her younger underage son was seen in the vicinity of where some house break-ins occurred and although he didn't have anything on him - he was arrested. As a juvenile - no big deal. Apparently my son was involved too (along with some other kids) but this boy didn't rat on him. My son was an adult then and could have gotten into a lot of trouble. Interesting enough ~ all the people in the area dropped the charges but one. An FBI agent. We know him! He played on our soccer team for years! Great guy. How embarrassing it would have been..... on top of everything else. I wonder how many other close calls there were? Not my business but ....... still wonder......

Hah! See? Your program went well. Just a bump in the road, that last one.
As for T-man\'s possible past--dare I advise not to borrow trouble by wondering what was happening? I used to go down that road and I noticed it only made me miserable, and my son would feel fine. Even if he admitted to something, being an active addict, he wouldn\'t admit to feeling bad about it. Still, I know because I snuck a look a his 1st Step from some treatment or other, that he did more than he ever let on to me.
It\'s in the past, and I can even write that without getting upset any more. Not just youthful folly, but still it is not in the present any more.
He and his buddy are actually house-sitting this month. I feel sorry for the house, though.
