Prison: Pat down, warnings, etc.
Well, God has sent me some places since He called me into ministerial Christian counseling. I've ridden in ambulances, went to hospitals, been to court but I think today was the topper....maximum security prison for a contact visit. You can get a contact visit approved or a regular visit. Contact you can actually give the person a hug while being watched as you sit on opposite sides of a table with a timer so you don't go over the limit.
OK, well, I had my Minister's Badge clipped on and was made to remove it as it has metal (the clip) on it. No car keys, no coat, no nothing but your clothes (which cannot have anything portraying illegal issues such as drugs, racism, etc.).
The appointment was sent for noon, didn't even get called back until 12:30! Then I go thru metal detector, wand thingy, and to the side room for pat down and shoe removal. GOODNESS!
I was told that contraband (tobacco, drugs, etc.) can be smuggled in, how I am not sure as I had everything checked except a cavity search!
While there, one lady was thrown out of her visit because I think she was found with a pair of tweezers? BIG FIT and a whole lot of screaming! By this point I am hoping to God I make it out and don't break some rule about anything. I couldn't even take in a list of things to discuss that I needed to remember to mention! What, pray, can one do with paper? Maybe I don't want to know.....no, don't think I do.
Anyway, wonder if this will be my last encounter with the prison system? Every time I think I have a reasonable idea of what God's going to have me doing, He sends me off into left field and I get myself "re-educated". Go in faith and yes, sometimes I go in faith with eyes closed! LOL Best not to see what's coming up, you know?
Must run....got to drink a cup of coffee and unwind.

Visiting the prisons as a minister is a real trip I know my friend does it weekly...one day they turned her away because she wasn\'t.wearing. a bra (her arthritis was too bad) . Even with 3 sweaters on! Yeah it is a challenge that is for sure
Went With A Friend
To Visit A Friend, Of Her\'s In Prison..
NO FUN !
SCARY !
Love Ya, Barbara
It sounds Jackie, like you really met your match.............but..................I\'d love to hear how the same story sounds twenty years from now when its dressed for the grands??
My dear NAN - Yeah, bras are a real biggie (no pun intended! LOL) and the wand thingy always goes off over the clips/snaps in back. SHEEZ! I was just thrilled to get a female to pat me down. She must have had a good laff as she had to tell me how to stand to be patted down. She must have rolled thinking \"Yeah, you hit the prisons a lot don\'t you?\" ROFLOL
Dear BARBARA - I found out you can actually make WEAPONS from toilet paper and dental floss! GOOD LANDS! They let them have an ink pen (which you could stab someone with) but I couldn\'t bring in a index card with a list????
Dear CAROL - Met my match? Hmm, don\'t think so but still I ain\'t about to bake no cake with a metal file in it! ROFLOL You must realize I\'ve actually been in gun holding situation. NOW THAT WAS A HAIRY SITUATION! May I never be in that situation again. But, as always, God took care of me and NO, I did not crap or pee my pants either! Stayed calm & talked them down. God\'s grace is amazing.
