I understand what I have to do.
Ever since I heard the word codependent my life has taken are dramatic turn. A turn for the better. At least better emotionally! The situation I have ended up in is less than ideal. No job, no home, no friends, no relationship and yet I am feeling the best I have ever felt in my life!
I do have friends out there but I have neglected them. I never make any effort with them. These are old friends. In the last eight years I have not developed one lasting friendship because frankly I deemed it too much effort. I can see now all the underlying problems I have been dealing with and the true reasons for not building up any lasting friendships. I have learnt these things because I discovered a lot about myself through codependency.
Another issue I have been dealing with is anxiety. I did try and get some help about two years 18 months ago for this. I was sick of not being able to stay still. I just wanted to go off exploring constantly. I went to six CBT sessions and although it helped a little I never understood what was the root of my problem. Through codependency I have learnt so much about myself and it has open many windows into my life.
Codependency and anxiety were my two biggest problems in my old life. Although codependency damaged my relationship the anxiety was destroying my whole life.
The anxiety has been targeted. Locked in sight. I am in control of how I feel. I am in control of my thoughts.  I am in control of my life.
Its going down!
And don't get too comfortable codependency. I am getting a job that I enjoy going to. I am getting a house that I want to stay in and I am going to be looking for a relationship after that. And you are not going to be part of it. I suggest you leave now. If you are still here in 30 days time there is going to be big trouble. I can can tell you now there is only going to be one outcome.

I completely understand what you\'re saying, both in terms of knowing I was codependent and dealing with anxiety. I heard someone at a CoDA meeting say that after finding out that she was codependent, her life got a turn for the worse. However, in my case, it made my life better. Knowing I wasn\'t alone and that hundreds of people suffer through what I undergo has helped me forgive myself.

As for anxiety, I\'m dealing with it so much better after counseling. Knowing that my feelings are not my truths has helped me understand and cope with any negative emotions. Best of luck to you!
