Precedence Day

Lot’s of new snow! I spent most of my day dealing with it. Spent the rest of the day doing chores and sleeping. What kind of holiday is that? Because it’s President’s Day I am going to post some of my favorite presidential quotes;

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

"With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die.
                                                Abraham Lincoln

Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.
                    George Washington

Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not
have, nor do they deserve, either one.
                    Thomas Jefferson
I’ll bet you thought that was Ben Franklin huh? He is quoted as saying something very similar.
In every country and in every age the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.                                                Thomas Jefferson
Although he was never President I think Mark Twain should have been. My favorite Twain quote, at this moment is; “I just found out what a statesman is, it’s a dead politician. I think we need more statesmen.”
Happy Presidents Day!
Ken

Thanks Ken, I like the one \"most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be\". When I am down I am going to say this to myself. Ken I love your positive attitude...you are good food for the soul, hugs Lu Ann

Ken, Thanks for the history lesson. I am sorry that you are still dealing with snow. I guess that is the price you pay for living in the north east. Hang in there spring is coming. Diane
