Prayers for a new grieving mom..

I did not sleep but a few hours last night. You see, since the eighth of May there has been a missing teenage boy in our area and it been so hard to watch unfold. Most of the community spent weeks looking for him. Yesterday, the bad news hit. His precious body was found in the lake. I read that his family were summoned to the water and my heart snapped wide open. did his mother have that as her last image of her son. Please God, I hope not.
i could not stay asleep until 3:30am. I would drift off and then jolt awake with that boy's face in my minds eye and he would say, "tell her."...again drift off jolt awake, "tell her.".Every time, I would just start praying for his Mom and him. The last time it happened, I saw my son Patrick come into view beside Jaden and he took his arm and nodded for him to come with him and I could feel him reassuring the boy that I had this. I woke with the strongest desire to go to this Mom when everything has calmed down and she is left on her own after the funeral. I want to be there for her and tell her it is okay to act however she needs to. I will tell her of my night only after I know she can and wants to know. It will be God's timing not mine.
I will be sure she knows about you SOTH and send her to you to be loved on. I now see the why in my son's passing. All things come together for good....the ability to reach out to this stricken mother simply would not have been possible without understanding how it feels. Pray for strength and discernment as I reach out.
                       I love you all, Lauri

I think this will be a blessing for this Mom as well as for you. I wish I had a better connection with other moms in my area. There are times when it is so very lonely. Sending peace, Kathy

Lauri, what a blessing you can be to this Mom...I have contacted a few new moms and told them about FMO for when they are able.
We all know how alone we feel when starting this journey...

You will know how to BE and just be a heart with ears for her. I am so very sorry for any mother to have to know this heartache, yet to have those who can hold our hand and heart IS such a blessing.

Gentle care as you companion and are companioned,

Oh how I do understand the ache in your own heart, knowing what the days and months and years ahead hold for that boy\'s mother. Sometimes, a woman might not welcome the lovingly intended approach by others. I remember two women (I guess from a local church) came to my screen door in May 2011. I could see them from the couch and I just waved them away. It was too overwhelming already and it was scary to see, I did not want them to see that horror. Perhaps asking another family member before approaching this mother if it will be ok is a good idea. Pray for her, no matter her faith or lack of it. God has gifted you, you \"see\" what others do not. Perhaps He intends that so you can stand in prayer.

Thanks for the advice...I would have tread lightly, but she is very grateful and outspoken to the community throughout all the he was missing and since he has been found. I privately messaged her earlier today with the website and an open invite to respond only if she feels the need. Again, thank you for the suggestion. I followed God\'s counsel and simply planted a seed.

I\'m so sorry.

I know you have been and will continue to be a great comfort to her, as you are to all of us.

I too home that mom did not have to see her son then. It would be a dreadful image. How caring Patrick is - helping him cross over and reassured him.
And I am so glad you are reaching out to his mom when the time is right. I hate to admit it but I believe we still have things to do and learn before we meet with our beloved children again. I just hurts like the dickens.
Love and huge hugs,
Marlene
