prayer needed

Dear friends, you may remember the 11 year old with colon cancer that I told you about. Her cancer has come back and she is in a lot of pain. In her journal today she said she was  in a lot of pain and wanted her friends to pray for her. I instantly thought of you folks. The cancer in now around her intestines and chemo has been started again. She is in MD Anderson in Texas. We live in NC so she is a long way from home. My heart is breaking for this child and her family. I don't think her parents would mind anyone reading her journal so if you would like to see her sweet face you can log onto caringbridge.org. Her name is Carey Heavner.  I know all of you have heavy burdens but one more to your prayer list is so needed.. Love to all of you............. Wanda

It will be a joy to add little Carey to my prayer list. Whenever a child is affected by this terrible disease, it\'s even more tragic. MD Anderson is a wonderful place. I pray that they\'ll be able to get rid of that nasty disease.

Hugs, Ingrid

Having lost my father and just this week a brother-in-law to colon cancer I have seen first hand what a terrible disease this can be. I will certainly add Carey to my pray list. Children especially should not have to deal with this pain.

I will definitely be praying for this family. My husband lost his battle with colon cancer. He was at MD Anderson and it is a wonderful place. I personally do not think she could be anywhere better. I loved everything they did for my husband. Without them we would have not had all those extra months together. But I know the hardship of traveling far from home to seek treatment. I also used caringbridge and it was a wonderful site for keeping everyone updated. I feel so deeply for Cary and her family.

Thank you all for your comments. I heard this morning she was not in as much pain as before. I was told she is wearing some kind of back pack with the chemo in it? It just hurts your heart to hear about a child.. love, wanda

Hi my dear Wanda,

thank you for letting us know about this dear girl, many prayers will be added to my list for her.. I so agree with you when it\'s a child it\'s so unfair, she hasn\'t even had a chance to live her life yet, my heart just crys for her..

I also want to thank you for your loving caring support for Tim and i, i haven\'t had to much of a chance to get back to everyone for the gratitude and love i have for you all.. Tim is doing a little better, he saw the oncologist today.. His kidney funtion is off, but it started to come up some on Thursday, i have to call the her tomorrow to get the results and what her next step will be.. This has been such a tough experience for us and more for Tim as we still haven\'t any idea what the Torisel can damage or has damaged and whats permanent and isn\'t..

I hope all is well with you, Steve and your family, my prayers for Carey will be said thru out the day and many days there after..

Love,
Becca
