Practicing disassociation

I don’t think the young adults at my church like me very much. I think they suffer me, but in reality they probably wish I wasn’t there. I write too much, I think too much. These aren’t good traits to have. At least not where friend making is concerned.
I’m thinking of pulling away. I don’t want to intrude where I’m not welcome. My relationship with God is great. I talk to Him often now. And I’m growing to rely on Him, to have faith in Him. But the rest of it, I’m just not sure where I fit, or even if I fit at all.
Like the trip to Agnes Waters, the trip to Wet N Wild, and of course every single young adult meeting. Maybe it would just be better if I didn’t attend these things.
How long does it take to fit in anyway? I bet if I were some pretty, little thing I’d find myself so much more welcome. But I’m not, and I don’t. So it’s best for me just to be me, and not something that I’m not. If they choose to want to know me, then that’s well and good. But I won’t push my presence on others.
I think it’s better this way. If I abscond from all further YA interactions and keep to myself from now on.
