Power Struggle

Had an interesting set of interactions with Mean Sister via Facebook this weekend, which had me reeling. But in the end, though, my co-worker (to whom I confided the situation) pointed out that MS said what she did as display of her power to anger me/throw me off/etc. She advised not to give MS that power. Good advice!
Part of me wanted to point out to MS that what she was doing was not acceptable to me. However, in re-reading some of her own comments (and getting further confirmation from my co-worker on this), MS knows EXACTLY what she's doing. (Basically, I had vented on FB saying - in general - how I felt invalidated & that I'd had it. And she was like, "Are you offended because I said X?" So, yeah, she knows. No point in bringing it up; it's just gonna lead to more circular conversations/arguing, which is just what she wants.)
This weekend I had come across a quote that I saved on Pinterest:
"I know you think you define me. But each brush stroke thinks that it's the last and that the painting will be done when the brush leaves the canvas again. But it isn't. You are just the shading. You are a dot. And I am the one holding the paintbrush."
So MS is the dot. Nothing to give much attention to. She had sent yet another message to me asking why I felt the way I did the other day. (I swear, she's like a dog with a bone!) So, under my co-worker's advice, I just said that it had been "one of those days" that "wasn't worth re-living." There - no engagement!
Karla Downing also had an awesome FB post today about how dealing with difficult people is actually a form of spiritual warfare--because really, their tactics are not of God! So we are to pray against these attacks, bind up the evil in Jesus' name & pray FOR our difficult person to be out from under that influence. I've read before on how we are to "pray for our enemies", but it being put in this light really clarifies the how & why.
