We sold a bunch of "stuff" at the yard sale on Saturday. Made $360. Started going through junk in the basement. Paul seems more motivated to continue working on the basement and working on replacing my kitchen this summer. Thank God for that. David was pretty good this weekend. I had a wonderful time at QVC. I went with my mom, sister Annette and brother Sal. My Mom and my brother are hair stylists and both own their own salons. My mom's is in her home. My brother's is HUGE with lots of people working for him (big spa and salon type of place.) My sister is a big supervisor at QVC and runs the beauty bash (and she invented it.) My brother has also been on QVC. So it was great to be able to walk with them and actually meet the celebrity makeup people and stylists and vendors. I got a lot more out of it than I would have just walking around to the booths myself. The tickets are $75 each, but my Mom and I got in for free through my sister. You walk out of there with a huge box of stuff, like over $2000 worth of products. Got a big box of Wen hair care products and a big box of Calista Tools hair products, a mascara from 100% Naturals, some perfume from Peter Thompson Roth, etc. Just oodles of stuff, most of which is full size bottles. The funny thing is, I am a pharmacy cosmetic person: L'oreal, Cover Girl, Neutrogena. So this was completely out of my league. Got a full size bottle of "Spackle" under foundation primer from Laura Geller. I am clueless what to use half of this stuff for and a very large bag of Philosophy full size products. So I will have to open my box and play with it all and give away what I don't want. They were also doing makeovers. I had my eyes done at Lorac and that was really cool. Loved it. Also, went out to lunch and had French toast with pears and Grand Marnier sauce. Yum. Then we went to see my brother and SIL and my nephew Rian and new baby niece Lucia. In going through the junk, I found a Scooby Doo stuffed animal, pillow, blanket and sleeping bag that were David's. Washed them and gave them to Rian, who is 4 and loves Scooby Doo. Bittersweet really as Rian is now the age I got David at. Rian loved them! Lucia is so precious and I got to hold her and she fell asleep in my arms. I bought her some cute little outfits. Aunt Bette has to spoil her already! I love being an Aunt! I love spoiling my nieces and nephews! So overall, a good, busy and tiring weekend. Getting up early both days, did not get caught up on sleep.

My house is a total mess. Worse than when I move in. In the process of brining up boxes and bins of toys and junk, it is all spread all over my house and then what did not sell all came back in. It is total chaos. This is the worst my house has looked in 6 years. I keep telling Paul, lets start to go through and trash or donate. He is shut down this AM and not feeling well and in bed and looks so depressed. My sister is so thin. She looks really great. She was the total center of attention, including with my mom and brother. Am I a little jealous? In the interest of self analyzing, yes, I guess I can say I am. She also just bought a brand new Camaro. My brother has this Audi sports car. Both make beaucoup bucks. It is not about the money or even necesarrily the attention or the weight. It is more about my own feelings of defeat and failure and nonacceptance. What goes through my head: If she lost all that weight, why can't I? She looks great, which makes me look awful. That is all the down side of comparing. She is accepted and well liked and sought after and popular. Even my brother may be getting his own reality show soon. (Hopefully will not be embarrasing, but knowing my brother it will.) And I just felt "looked down upon" by the two of them. They can really come off as being snooty sometimes. I guess in their business, to be successful, you not only have to be self confident, but cocky with a capital C. Add into that the stress from work and my gaining some of those pounds back, and I wake up this morning feeling blah, awful, etc. I am not getting the self satisfaction from my job anymore that I once did.
I have to get focused on my own goals again and getting back on track. I have to find a way to get control over my life: eating, work, house. I feel very overwhelmed at the moment. I have to find a way to build my self confidence and self esteem and get back my own sense of satisfaction. So much of that is tied to my weight, which may or may not be a good thing. I just remember feeling better about myself when the weight was coming off, both physically and mentally. I have to get my house back in order and I have to find a way to manage my time better. And, the biggest thing, I have to get back to going to the Y in the morning at least 3x per week. Tall order.
Bought some fruit at the store last night and ground turkey. Going to the Y tonight for Health Circle. So Day 1 begins again.

Hip Hurrah for Day 1! Always moving forward...to your goal!
You QVC sounded fantastic....what a haul of great items.
Good idea to sort and donate. One persons trash in another persons treasure.
Greart job getting rid of your junk and getting some cash! Hope you get back on track, it can be so tough sometimes!
*Great
You did have a very fun weekend
Don\'t worry about your brother and sister. they have their lives and you have yours. You can lose the weight. You may not be the same weight as your sister but you will get to your goal at your pace . Don\'t compare that will only make you feel bad and then you will get overwhelmed. do they weight loss for you and forget about them. I know it \'s hard. You can do it.
Great about going back to the Y. that is step 1
Step 2. get rid of the stuff you brought back into the house before it gets back into the basement. you were willing to sell it at the flea market so now donate it call one of the many organizations to come pick it up. ( i know easier said than done)
Wow what a great amount of things you received. JM is right ones woman\'s garbage is another persons gem
Keep up with the Y you can do it. Yeaaaaaa
Hugs
