really miss reading this kind of stuff from sociology classes and also in women's studies classes (women's studies is really a history of women from the time when women ruled and were priestesses from 10,000 years b.c. to 600 a.d. (as a timeframe, the holy bible was written 1400 b.c. to 600 a.d.) and the treatment/oppression of this dominant gender (women) globally - there is even a bible that people can buy where all the english translated "he" (which is supposed to be neutral, as it is in other languages) instead in english is switched to "she." changes the whole thought process with that. it rocks. women's studies should be be a required class in primary school through college. what a wake up call).
love this poster. i never even THOUGHT about genitalia as the ONLY reason to consider a toy only for one gender. makes it all simple doesn't it. another view is what do they do in scandinavia, since even 30 years ago scandinavia was considered the top, then western europe, then japan, then usa -- hmmmm where is usa now in the order of things. in scandinavia there are no gender lines. men get maternity leave to be there for the infant and women get maternity leave to be there for the infant. no need for nannies or sitters. boys play with dolls and girls play with dolls. so different than here. i think in usa, gi joe was considered a big milestone.

Those suggestions range from messages on panties (like the police are on their way here) to spring-loaded maiming devices which alert the police a crime is being committed and where; carrying loaded guns, taking karate lessons and mandatory military for both sexes at a young age.
